NUA-O Scholarship is a financial assistance program initiative by the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha, with the main objective of providing scholarships to eligible students enrolled in undergraduate and post graduate programs to promote equitable progress in higher education and improve the Gross Enrollment Ratio or GER. The last date of this scholarship is April 15, 2024. Interested applicants can apply through the Odisha Government’s State Scholarship Portal https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in/ before that specified time.
However, students must enroll themselves in an undergraduate or postgraduate program recognized by higher education department.
NUA-O Scholarship 2024
Regular course students belonging to General, SC, ST, EBC, SEBC, OBC category enrolled in under graduate (UG) and post graduate (PG) programs, are eligible to apply for NUA-O scholarship. Also there are some other eligible criteria you must follow before apply. Students enrolled in government institutes, non-government institutes, aided Sanskrit college can apply. Also students enrolled in any private institute under higher education department through SAMS can participate this scholarship program. Beneficiaries will get Rs 9000 to Rs 11000 yearly as a financial aid via direct benefit transfer mode.
Basically, the Odisha government is playing an important role in reducing the drop out rate of students and improving the quality of GER or Gross Enrollment Ratio by focusing on higher education through this program. Through this scholarship program Odisha Government will provide the scholarship amount once a year as financial assistance in the bank account of the eligible students. This scholarship program in the financial year 2023-24 is considered as a truly unprecedented step. So students must apply before the last apply date April 15, 2024.

Who is eligible for NUA-O Scholarship?
- Applicant must be permanent resident of Odisha state.
- Applicant must be a regular course student who enrolled in undergraduate or post graduate program. Because students enrolled in open university or distance learning type courses will not be eligible to apply for this scholarship.
- Students enrolled in government, non-government, aided college, state university, aided Sanskrit college and non aided private college under higher education department through SAMS can apply.
- Students who are getting the benefit of Kalia Scholarship Scheme cannot apply for this scheme.
- SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, EBC or General category students can apply for this scholarship scheme.
- Applicants whose parents pay income tax are not eligible to apply for this scholarship scheme.
Registartion Of NUA-O Scholarship
An eligible applicant must complete his registration properly otherwise the application of the scholarship may be rejected. That is why it is very important for every eligible student to fill the online registration and application form correctly. Now the registration process of this scholarship is being explained in detail.
- An applicant must first visit the Odisha State Scholarship Portal https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in/ and then select the Apply Scholarship option.
- Then applicant can see the option to apply for NUA-O scholarship under the Higher Education Department and the applicant has to select the option ‘apply‘ according to his/her category i.e. select General option if General category student.
- After clicking on “Apply” a student login web page will open. Now select Register Here option.
- Now select I agree option and proceed.
- Then the student has to provide his Aadhaar number and verify it. After that student name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, alternate mobile number, email id, should be given.
- Finally the applicant has to generate a password and click on register option. Only then the registration process will be completed.

NUA-O Scholarship Login
Applicants who have completed the registration process on the Odisha State Government Scholarship Portal can easily complete the login process to apply for the scholarship. Only they will need their Aadhaar ID number and the password they created during registration to login.

NUA-O Scholarship Apply Online
Once logged in, an applicant can view the dashboard section of NUA-O Scholarships. Here an applicant can see his profile details very easily according to aadhar details I means all the details that are already present in the aadhar card will be shown in the profile details. - Student profile information: First of all we have to fill the Student Profile Information form where we have to provide academic year, department, scheme name etc. After that, the applicant’s name, category, gender, date of birth, aadhaar number, profile photo, guardian’s name, mother’s name, father’s name etc should be provided by the applicant. Basic details should be given in the basic information part. Then give the address and click on the next option.
- Academic information: In the academic information part, the applican has to give his educational qualification details including course, board name, passing year, roll number, total marks or CGPA, marks obtained and upload the scanned copy of the certificate. Then the applicant has to provide his/her institute information i.e. present education information and institute details. Which includes District, Block, Institute Name, Course Name, Course Year, Branch/Steam, Current Year of Study, Admission or Registration Number and Admission Date. After that the applicant has to upload the last exam passed certificate.
- Eligibility information: After providing the academic information, the applicant should provide the eligibility information such as residence certificate number, issuing authority, issue date, etc. and upload the residence certificate.
- Account information: Then the applicant should enter the bank information such as ifsc code, bank name, account holden name, account number in the account information part. Aadhaar Bank seeded status information should be given also. Finally you have to upload the scanned copy of the front page of the bank’s pass book.
- Finally you have to review all the steps and Confirm the application form for submission. Thats all.
