PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) also known as Prime Minister’s scholarship scheme is a unique initiative of Ministry of Home Affairs for 12th Pass, Diploma, Graduation Students. Since 2006 the PM Scholarship Scheme (pmss) is aimed at 12th Pass, Diploma, Graduation students from dependent wards of CAPFs & AR Personnel or their widows. It focuses on maintaining the stream of higher technical education and professional education through the Scholarship Scheme (PMSS). The PMSS scholarship amount is processed through Public Finance Management System (PFMS) under Direct Benefit Transfer mode. The last apply date for PMSS scholarship is 31 January 2024.

Renewal students are required 50% marks to apply. Students who have completed class 12, diploma or graduation with 60% marks and who are enrolled in first professional degree course in their current academic year can apply online for PM scholarship scheme in 2023-24 academic year by visiting the official National scholarship portal NSP 2.0, WARB portal or CAPFs & AR Ministry of
Home Affairs portal.

PM SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME PMSS

PM Scholarship Scheme’s (pmss) objective is to provide financial assistance to 12th Pass, Diploma, Graduation students from dependent wards of CAPFs & AR Personnel or their widows. Every academic year 2000 students (1000 boys and 1000 girls) from dependent wards of CAPFs & AR Personnel or their widows are selected. The PM Scholarship scheme amount for boys is Rs 2500 per month and for girls Rs 3000 per month but the PMSS scholarship amount is given annually.

PMSS Scholarships are generally provided based on the duration of the course. For example, if the duration of a course is one year, then the scholarship is provided for 1 year and if the duration of the course is 5 years, then the scholarship is provided for five years. and the approval of course’s duration (PMSS) are totally depending on the concerned authority. For PMSS Scholarship, if students are enrolled in First Professional Degree Courses recognized by government Bodies under AICTE, UGC, ICAR, MCI, CCIM, CCH, VCI, DCI, PCI, BCI, RCI, PMC, INC, NCTE in the current academic year, then they are eligible to apply for this PMSS Scholarship.

PM Scholarship Scheme PMSS Eligibility

There are some PM Scholarship Scheme eligibility criteria you must follow before applying to PM Scholarship Scheme.

  • 12th Pass, Diploma and Graduation Students can apply for PM Scholarship Scheme (pmss)
  • Student pursuing first professional degree like BBA, BCA, B.SC, Medicine, Engineering, MBA, MCA are eligible to apply.
  • Students admitted to first Professional Degree Courses recognized by government Bodies under AICTE, UGC, ICAR, MCI, CCIM, CCH, VCI, DCI, PCI, BCI, RCI, PMC,INC, NCTE are eligible.
  • Students from Dependent Wards or Widows of CAPFs & AR personnel are eligible
  • Student must obtain minimum 60% marks in (MEQ) class 12, Diploma or Graduation courses
  • Renewal students are required 50% marks
  • Students admitted to 1st year courses are only eligible for PMSS Scholarship Scheme.
  • Students admitted to 1st year courses as a Lateral Entry or Integrated Course are not eligible
  • 2nd year students are also not eligible for applying the PM Scholarship Scheme. But if the 2nd year student’s course is an integrated course where the 1st part of their course is academic based and 2nd part of their course is integrated (Professional) then they are eligible to apply for the PM Scholarship Scheme.
  • Distance learning and abroad studying students are not eligible.

PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) Registration

If a student wishes to apply for this PM scholarship scheme PMSS for the first time then he/she must visit this official portal and complete the registration process. So first we will discuss about this registration process.

  • Open your browser and visit the official National scholarship portal 2.0 or NSP 2.0 https://scholarships.gov.in
  • Navigate to Applicant Corner option.
  • Select New Registration from the Applicant Corner.
  • Check the Academic Year 2023-24 is mentioned.
  • Check the terms and conditions, select I agree and continue.
  • Select Aadhaar number, aadhaar registered phone number, get OTP, solve the captcha code and verify through aadhaar authentication
  • After Aadhaar fatched your details successfully then you have to select scholarship type, scholarship category, state of domicile , mother’s name, email id and captcha.
  • Now you have to click on register.
  • After the successful registration, student will get registration number and password to their registered mobile number.

PM Scholarship Scheme Apply Online

Now we’re going to explain how a student can perform the PM Scholarship Scheme Apply Online process.

  • Visit the national scholarship portal scholarships.gov.in
  • Check Application Submission for AY 2023-24 and select Fresh application under Applicant Corner.
  • A new window will open. Now enter your registered User name, Password and solve captcha. Then login
  • Now enter otp and confirm the otp
  • Now change the password according to your choice
  • After NSP Portal Login, navigate to Application Form and complete the full application process including applicant’s personal details and academic details like applicant’s name, Parents’s name, income details, category, course details, course year, mode of study, Hosteler Day scholar, etc.
  • Enter contact details or address
  • Check the available scholarship like PMSS
  • Now select the scheme to apply
  • Enter additional details
  • Upload necessary details such as Admission details Receipt, caste certificate, income certificate, previous year’s last qualified mark sheet, bona fide certificate etc.
  • You can also link your digilocker account to store your academic details
  • Student will get a complete fill-up form after final submission
  • Now take a printout of the application.
  • After submitting the application, the candidate has to wait for the official verification process.
